Bahrain Public Transport Company (BPTC) is a private joint venture between leading UK-based international transport providers National Express Group plc and Bahrain-based Ahmed Mansour Al Aali (AMA), on of the largest and longest-established contracting and construction groups in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
BPTC was appointed by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) under a 10-year concession agreement to operate Bahrain’s new Public Transport Network in accordance with international standards and practices. Under the supervision and regulation of the MTT, BPTC is responsible for the operation of the entire public bus network as well as the provision of the upgraded buses, related equipment, and passenger terminal infrastructure.
The Company has made substantial investments in the new network largely driven by a three-pronged approach geared towards Safety, Connectivity, and Technology.
