BBBF’s Special Interest Group for ICT professionals in partnership with Tamkeen hosted a meeting to discuss the latest trends in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems

Manama: The Bahrain British Business Forum’s Special Interest Group for ICT in collaboration with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” recently hosted a meeting at the Capital Club to discuss the latest trends in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems, to enable organisational efficiencies. The event brought experts from leading ERP companies including Oracle and Microsoft to explore how the organisations in the Kingdom of Bahrain can benefit.

BBBF’s joint head of ICT Special Interest Group Ravi Jayasundera welcomed the guest speakers Gary Brocklehurst (Oracle), Moutaz Al Nairab (Microsoft) and Maan Hussain (Tamkeen) to the meeting.

Gary Brocklehurst (Oracle) highlighted in his presentation how digital ERP helps the CxO stay one step ahead in a fast-changing world, whilst Moutaz Al Nairab (Microsoft) discussed the digitalisation of processes with Modern Business Applications. Maan Hussain (Tamkeen) briefed the audience on the Tamkeen support schemes available for enterprises, especially to adopt the cloud based applications.

Ravi Jayasundera commented: “ERP systems have become the cornerstone of modern organisations, supporting the strategic and operational processes that are essential to running a business. A robust ERP can enable an organisations address the requirements of upcoming VAT and other similar requirements.” He added that “Concepts such as Robotic Process Automation and blockchain are being incorporated to ERP systems. Further cloud computing is changing how ERP systems are utilised within organisations, enabling ERPs to be adopted by more organisations with minimum capital expenditure.”

The meeting concluded with a panel discussion and interactive Q&A session, where the questions by the audience were answered by the presenters.

Gary Brocklehurst – ERPM Business Development and Strategy Leader, Oracle

A hands-on professional in the Enterprise Application Services marketplace for more than 30 years with a proven track record of shaping and delivering complex enterprise business solutions across a range of commercial industries and geographical regions.

Gary has worked in the “Software as a Service” field for more than 12 years specialising in Finance, Human Resource and Supply Chain business processes and value chains. He has a passionate interest to help customers exploit the benefits of modern cloud-based ERP applications technology and thrive in today’s fast paced and volatile business environment.

He relishes the opportunity to engage in technology led business transformations and seeks to ensure clients capitalise on modernisation opportunities and realise the full business benefits from their investment.

Gary works for Oracle Corporation in Dubai as an ERP and EPM Product Strategy Leader. He has a BSc (Hons) and MSc from Manchester University.

Moutaz Al Nairab – Digital Transformation Advisor, Microsoft

Moutaz has over 15 years’ experience in ERP with a number of leading ERP providers such as Oracle, Infor and Microsoft. He is an experienced consultant, subject matter expert and ERP project manager. He managed a number of high profile ERP implementation projects. Moutaz works with Microsoft customers assisting them to explore the benefits of Microsoft Dynamics, implement best practices and achieve value from their ERP implementations.

Moutaz works for Microsoft, based in their Dubai office as Digital Transformation Advisor for Microsoft Business Applications. He received his BSc from Jordan University.
