Lynne Rowland
Lynne has over 20 years of personal tax experience, working for leading accountancy firms    as well as regional firms. This is experience enables her to provide advice to a broad spectrum of clients on a variety of matters, especially income tax, inheritance tax and capital
gains tax from a UK and international perspective. Lynne has advised a number of clients on capital gains tax planning including structuring shareholdings to ensure entrepreneurs’ relief is available, maximising principal private residence relief where multiple properties are owned, gifts to charity, inter-spousal transfers of assets to equalise income tax, and advising on use of tax favoured investments such as EIS which provides income tax and capital gains tax advantages. Lynne has also developed a series of lectures on inheritance tax planning and written articles on trusts and other tax planning vehicles.
Lynne enjoys building relationships with clients and their families where she can act as a conduit and sounding board. Lynne sees herself as a tax “GP” i.e. someone who advises individuals on all aspects relating to their tax affairs, working with niche specialists where necessary. Planning is often driven by issues relating to marriage, divorce, bereavement, residence, inheritance and retirement.

As well as her tax role, Lynne sits on the board of Kingston Smith Financial Advisers and Kingston Smith Trust Corporation. Lynne has successfully created support programmes for Intermediaries whilst at the Big-4, organising networking events and technical updates. Lynne has also lectured on personal tax issues at the AAT Annual Conference, to retired members of ICAEW and to regional members of ACCA, as well as to groups of clients.
